It’s Friday, which means it’s time for the weekly roundup! This week we have contenders from the likes of  J Cole, Toddla T and Stormzy.

Lethal Bizzle ‘offered 80k’ as a last-minute replacement at Wireless Festival

One person’s loss is another person’s gain, this seems to be the way for Lethal Bizzle as a last-minute cancellation at Wireless led him to have reportedly gained an extra 80k in the bank.

Just a couple of hours before Wiley’s performance, Wireless Festival tweeted saying that he was unable to make it due to delay with his travel plans.

Lethal Bizzle seems to be quite the negotiator as he managed to turn the original figure on its head by doubling it – props to Lethal B.

The instrumental for J Cole ‘Neighbors’ is ‘Forbidden Fruit’ reversed. Pretty cool.

Yes you heard right. There has been speculation surfacing over the internet that Forbidden Fruit played backwards was the beat for Neighbors and J Cole finally addressed the rumours by playing it live at his show. Make sure you check it out!

It has been five years since Frank Ocean’s ‘Channel Orange’ was released!

Changing and somewhat re-defining the landscape of RnB in this decade, Channel Orange caused a ripple effect that landed him worldwide recognition. Off the back of his seventeen-track album, he received Best Urban Contemporary Album at The Grammy Awards and a string of charting tracks. Irrespective of the media acclaim, Channel Orange entails an innovative and eclectic RnB and Neo Soul sound that has gone onto imprint many of the artists who we see in the scene now.

Stormzy gets mistaken from Lukaku

Stormzy has been addressing his similarity with centre forward Lukaku for quite a while now. There is one thing being called similar and another thing actually being photographed wrongly on the front page of a newspaper. The internet went into meltdown as an Irish newspaper published a photo of Stormzy instead of the Belgian footballer.

J Hus makes an overseas link up with French Montana

J Hus has been consistently dropping tune after tune and the levels have been amplified even further with a guest feature from French Montana on his single Did You See. The single has been doing the rounds for the last few months and the remix is as cold as the original.

Infusing a wave of Afrobeats and Bashment Da Beatfreakz enlist the likes of Sneakbo, Afro B, Moelogo and Sona on their new single Quavo. Their eclectic taste lies at the core of their music and Quavo provides an up-tempo track that is set to ignited club circuit.

P Money has just dropped a Dot Rotten diss track that has got people running to their kettle. It’s no secret that they’ve had some beef in the past and it seems to have reignited. There has been no reply from Dot Rotten as of yet, however in the meantime check out Real Talk & now Liars Jn The Booth.

Toddla T provides a taster of upcoming album ‘Foreign Light’

Renowned for using his signature Steel City baseline Toddla T incorporates this with some UK Funky in his summer smash Magnet ft Andrea Martin. The days until Nottinghill Carnival is getting increasingly closer and this track is guaranteed to get you in the carni mood. Magnet is taken from his upcoming project Foreign Light which is set to drop on July 28th.

Shay La Rose and Mazi Chukz link up on ‘Do Your Ting’.
For those who don’t know about Shay La Rose put her onto your radar. She is a fairly new artist on the scene who dropped her debut Make It Happen back in 2016. She continues on a high as she delivers her latest single Do Your Ting, which is fuelled with an irresistibly catchy bassline that is dipped in with an Afrobeat twist. Produced by DJ P Montana the track will definitely be an anthem for the summer season.
