#CREAMY Club Night

Over the years, I’ve always considered myself more of house party lover than club goer or raver, and with good reason. House parties always have a friendly ‘see-your-neighbour, cousin’s and likely everyone you went to school with by accident’ vibe you can depend on, and beyond that? There’s always something to keep everyone occupied, from the loudest Azonto warrior to the more chill introvert.

Feeling kinda hype? You’re in the living room and corridors vibing to the music. Chilling? Then you’re in the kitchen tryna scoop a young meal or moving to the girl with the frizzy afro who smiles like Aphrodite. The song selection always bangs, and if it doesn’t? It isn’t hard to take over by either commandeering the laptop yourself or jeering at whoever’s DJ’ing till they fix up and pull up March Madness the appropriate number of times. Thus, London’s night life has never done much for me…

Until now.

The last couple years have been booming for London in all aspects of culture and entertainment, birthing more than a couple event teams you can always count on for a turn up and Cream Soda’s definitely a name to count among them!

Last Thursday I got my first Creamy club night experience at the Ace Hotel and as licked as I got? It was definitely up there, rivalling house party vibes for me. So for those who didn’t attend, here’s a handful of reasons why you should be at the next one.

You don’t wanna miss the special guest!

And special she was! Creamy doesn’t always have a guest perform at their events but now that they’ve done it they’ll likely do it again. Rightly so too, because when her leg of the set began, Ray Blk hulked up to centre stage without any delay at all! Calling for the room to “come forward”, she created the intimate setting she needed to blow attendees away with her distinguished vocals! The Havisham singer set a vibe even the mandem were feeling with her atmospheric melodies, powering through a slew of tracks like her popular single 50/50, My Hood and then a particularly soulful sonnet about her “boo on the west side!”.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn’t mind catching the Miss Blk again soon…

They Had the Music Selection On SMASH!

Yup! Resident DJ’s that know what they’re doing are definitely a plus for any turn up, and Cream Soda definitely has that in abundance!

Heard of Beats 1? Rinse FM? Radar Radio? NTS Radio, License 2 Trill? Well talents from all the above were spinning tracks of every variety. From the all the hip hop vibes Lily Mercer was shelling out, to some of the Bashment bangers Snoochie Shy bounced off the walls. There was legit, something for everyone!

You know the whole clique will be present!

And if it ain’t yours? Well, you know it’ll be someone’s… It seemed as though every bait face and tastemaker was in attendance, so if you are one, you know you can expect to see some familiar faces. And if you aren’t? Well, you know where you’ll find em! Thursday night’s shenanigans we’re wild and was made that much wilder bumping shoulders with the likes of A$AP Mob’s A$AP Nast, Julie Adenuga or BBK’s Jammer and Shorty… and those are just the faces I can remember! I mean it was a fairly star studded affair.

Party Nah Lock ‘Arf Early!

Same way your local house party runs into the early morning? Well that’s what you can expect from a Creamy club night. It really goes down, right up into the early morning. Right up until that point where the dance floor starts emptying and the only people left are those tryna secure, the staff and those too twisted to notice that the music has slowed down. What is that, if not a house party setting?

Late. Night. PA.

I don’t know, maybe I just don’t get out enough (I don’t)? But if you’re tryna sell your introverted or pretentious friends on our booming night scene, then load up your flasks, hit theirs for some pre-drining and after six shots of Southern Comfort, THIS is where you should take them!
